  • What is Big Life Adventure?
    Big Life Adventure is an innovative digital product for people with learning disabilities and/or autism. It uses purpose built, highly accessible and fun technology to revolutionise the way people with learning disabilities think about their lives. It is comprised of 3 parts: Discover, Dream, Design and The Compass Kit.
  • What do all the different parts of the system do?
    Discover is an online social community, Dream is a digital life mapping tool, Design is a digital life planning tool and The Compass Kit is a selection of generic online tools including: a calendar, a private journalling space and a resource hub. Discover and Design are being launched together and Dream will follow shortly afterwards which is why it's not currently available.
  • Who is Big life Adventure for?
    Big life Adventure is purpose built for people with learning disabilites and/or autism over the age of 13. As a provider of support services you may be looking for a way to elevate the way people in your organisation are supported, whether this is through giving them access to a secure social community or enabling them to dream and plan their future on a digital, accessible platform. Big Life Adventure allows people to plan and communicate across the organisation, both with each other and the staff who work there.
  • Is Big Life Adventure fully accessible to everyone with learning disabilities?
    Big Life Adventure was developed in conjunction with people with learning disabilities and their families and has been designed to be used by everyone (just with different levels of support). We have tried to make the product as accessible as possible - people can communicate in different ways on the system, including voice notes and inserting imagary/pictures instead of words.
  • How do I sign up?
    Providers of support services and related organisations can register their interest before the product goes fully live. It's easy to do - just click on the 'Join Us' button on the left. Alternatively, if you would like us to come and demo the product to you and give you more information on how it could revolutionise support within your organisation please email: alexis.ali@biglifeadventure.co.uk
  • How will I know how to use it?
    There is a section in the platform called 'The Resource Hub'. Here you will find easy read resources and videos on how to use the platform. We can also offer organisations and providers training and product demos: email alexis.ali@biglifeadventure.co.uk to arrange.
  • Do I have to pay to use it?
    Big Life Adventure is a subscription product which means you will pay a monthly amount to use the product. This is so we can continue to offer a high level of security and run the product effectively. For providers we recommend you purchase our dual product (Discover and Design) which gives the people you support access to the online social community as well as an online life planning template. Both of these parts can be purchased for £8 per month, per person. Alongside this you can have unlimited staff accounts. You can also just purchase Discover for £5 per month, per person.
  • Can I get a free trial?
    We don't offer a free trial at present. To ensure we keep everyone safe we need to sign people up to the system formally right from the beginning.
  • How do I pay?
    Organisations will be be sent a monthly invoice and will have 30 days to pay. All details will be clarified during the onboarding process.
  • How do I get going?
    Big Life Adventure can offer a full implementation package to providers and organisations where we will engage, motivate and train your staff to successfully implement the platform. Contact Alexis on alexis.ali@biglifeadventure if you would be interested in that. However if you want to do this yourself we offer resources and guidance through the Resource Hub
  • What if I need help?
    You can contact Big Life Adventure via the chat function in the platform, we will usually respond within 48 hours.
  • Who are the Big Life Adventure Guides?
    A Big Life Adventure Guide is the name we give to someone who is there to help the people within your organisation make the most of the system. Staff members can be guides and can work with individuals or groups of the people they support. The Guides are also notified through the Big LIfe system if there is something that the inbuilt AI (Artificial Intelligence) has picked up that might be a risk to the individuals your organisation supports.
  • I don’t have an email address. Can I still sign up?
    Unfortunately you will need a email to sign up. You can get a free email account using google email.
  • Where can I read BLA policies?
    Our Policies are located at the bottom of the website.
  • I have forgotten my password
    You can click on 'Forgot Password?' and follow the instructions to set a new password.
  • Can I change my Guide?
    Yes you can. Go to the 'Admin' section of the product (bottom left) and manage your Guides there.
  • I have a problem with my payment/invoice. What shall I do?
    You will have a Big Life Relationship Manager and we suggest you contact them in the first instance if there is a problem with either your invoice or your payment.
  • I want to use a new email address?
    You can do this in Settings
  • I want to change the card I pay with?
    You can do this in Settings
  • How do I cancel my account?
    You will have a notice period as per your agreed terms and conditions and will be able to cancel your account following that notice period. Contact your Big Life Relationship Manager if you need any help with this.
  • Can I suspend my account for a while?
    There is no option to suspend your account. Our research shows that by engaging with the Big Life product and using it regularly you will get the most benefit.
  • I would like to change the amount of Big Life Adventure licences I have?
    In the first instance we recommend you speak with your Big Life Relationship Manager
  • Is it safe for me to use?
    At Big Life Adventure, your safety is our top priority. We've implemented robust security measures, including encryption protocols, secure servers, and strict access controls, to protect your personal information. Our platform is designed with your safety in mind, with features such as AI, education pathways and reporting tools to address inappropriate content or behaviour promptly. We continuously monitor for any potential risks and take proactive steps to ensure a safe and secure environment for all users.   • What do you do with my data?
    Your data is handled with the utmost care and respect at Big Life Adventure. With our unique friending feature, you have full control over who can see your data on the platform, empowering you to manage your privacy preferences as you use the platform. Additionally, we may use anonymised data for analytics purposes to gain insights into user behavior and preferences. This helps us continuously improve our platform and tailor our services to better serve your needs.   • How is AI used within Big Life Adventure?
    At Big Life Adventure, we harness the power of AI to enhance safety and promote a positive user experience. Our AI technology is primarily employed to detect illegal and unkind content on the platform. Through advanced algorithms, we analyse user-generated content in real-time, identifying potentially harmful material. When such content is detected, our AI generates prompts that educate the user about appropriate behavior and potential consequences. In some cases, our AI may also prevent the content from being displayed to other users, mitigating its impact. By leveraging AI in this way, we strive to create a safer and more supportive online community for all our users.

(Allies is the term we use when describing anyone involved in a person's support including paid support workers, family members and friends). People can access the product independently either with or without the support of their chosen allies.
  • Is Big Life Adventure fully accessible to everyone with learning disabilities?
    Big Life Adventure was developed in conjunction with people with learning disabilities and their families and has been designed to be used by everyone (just with different levels of support). We have tried to make the product as accessible as possible - people can communicate in different ways on the system, including voice notes and inserting imagery/pictures instead of words.

    The product is launching Autumn 2024, so at the moment we are asking peope to register their interest before the product goes fully live. It's easy to do - just click on the 'Join Us' button on the left. We will then be in touch with more information.

  • Do I have to pay to use it?
    Big Life Adventure is a subscription product which means you will pay a monthly amount to use the product. This is so we can continue to offer a high level of security and run the product effectively. To purchase Discover, the online social community, you will pay £5 per month. You can also purchase Design, a digital planning tool alongside Discover for £8 per month. As part of your package you will get 2 free accounts for your allies (this could be for family members or friends). They can then support you to build a community of friends and help you use the system effectively.
  • Can I get a free trial?
    We don't offer a free trial at present. To ensure we keep everyone safe we need to sign people up to the system formally right from the beginning.
  • How do I pay?
    You will pay monthly through an ongoing subscription with your bank. We will guide you through this when you set up the account.
  • How do I get going?
    Once your account has been set up you will have access to the parts of the system that you have subscribed to. We recommend that you watch some of the videos in the Resource Hub and it might help if you can find someone you trust to talk to who can support you to make the most of the system.
